Our tutors are trained to meet the varied needs of students in small groups
of 2-5 students. Whether in-person or in virtual sessions, our tutors frequently check for understanding and use high-yield student engagement techniques with the goal of help learners master concepts.
We begin our services by developing relationships of trust with students through strategic rapport building activities. Soon after we assess students to gauge their current skills in relation to their grade level. We’ve found that students give a more genuine effort on their assessments when a relationship of trust exists with the tutor, which gets us better data to structure the student’s learning plan. Based upon the data gathered from the pre-assessment, we craft a standards-aligned, individual learning plan.
This plan will guide our tutors through our content library on which standards and skills each student needs the most help in. Our goal is to help each student develop mastery in all identified deficient areas, even accelerating them up to grade-level standards if they start off well behind. At the end of services we administer a post assessment which will demonstrate each student’s growth and development.
